Initial Physiotherapy Appointment

This is an initial assessment and physiotherapy treatment service. The session will begin with some questions to gather information about your dog, their history and their lifestyle. It will include a static and dynamic assessment and palpation. A personalised treatment plan will be made and carried out within the session. A home exercise program will also be made for you to carry out in between physiotherapy sessions as this is a key factor to rehabilitation and physiotherapy.

All Following Physiotherapy Appointments

This is an assessment and physiotherapy treatment service for existing clients. The session will begin with a few questions to find out how your dog has been since the last session. It will include a static and dynamic assessment and palpation. A personalised treatment plan will be made and carried out within the session. A home exercise program will also be made for you to carry out in between physiotherapy sessions as this is a key factor to rehabilitation and physiotherapy.

Initial Hydrotherapy Appointment

This is an initial hydrotherapy appointment for new clients. In the initial hydrotherapy appointment, we break down the whole process to ensure your dog is not overwhelmed with the new experience. We gradually introduce them to the underwater treadmill and will go at your dogs own pace to ensure a productive and therapeutic session.

Following Hydrotherapy Appointments

This is an hydrotherapy treatment service for existing clients. The session will begin with a few questions to find out how your dog has been since the last session. A personalised treatment plan will be made and carried out. Your dog will be showered before and after getting in the underwater treadmill. Your dog will have breaks in between each walk when in the underwater treadmill, where we will also carry out physiotherapy exercises and treatment where appropriate.

Appointments are held at our Canine Rehabilitation Centre in Thurton, NR14 6AG.

All staff are fully qualified and registered so you may be able to claim physiotherapy and hydrotherapy costs back through your insurance if they are covered in your dogs insurance cover.

Please note that Veterinary physiotherapists are required to treat under veterinary referral in accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966. Therefore, all clients currently under veterinary treatment/investigations MUST have a referral from their veterinarian before physiotherapy treatment. If your animal has not directly been referred by your veterinarian, we will need to contact your veterinarian to acquire consent prior to your appointment.
